Currently
in Nigeria there is this four letter Yoruba word (JAPA) trending which has even
gone viral on social media platform, not leaving all to real life practice and expression
among Students and every average being in the country.
We are surprise
to see the success of the fast spreading slang, so then we decided to dig the
origin of the word JAPA, according
to a our search; we are made to understand that the word japa emanates from Yaba
Colledge Of technology which can be strictly traced to the Computer Science/
Engineering department of the Institution.
The word Japa came from a playful and
fun-taught computer command “Ctrl + j +
p = japa”.
But the
success of it going viral came from the fact that Japan lose out of the Fifa World Cup 2018, as known as Russia18 i.e
Japan ti Japa.
The success
of the Slang does not stop there, as it has titled some Nigerian music, among
the artists are Small Doctor and Danny S.
